  Very limited range of shops. Mainly consists of charity shops, banks and cafés. Needs a lot of investment. There is also parking time restrictions which is a scam. Staff keep the area around the shops clean and security staff are very good at their jobs. This centre services many towns but you will find that it is mainly unemployed people that spend their benefits down there.

  Castle dene is the most depressing shopping centre i have ever been. I have lived in the Peterlee area all of my life and witnessed the decline over many years. Promises of major investment never materialised and because of which towns and cities like Hartlepool, Sunderland and Dalten Park have flourished through the trade Peterlee are missing out on.
